I know there are similar topics already in the Dorico forum but I cannot figure out how to apply them to my situation. I am editing a choral and orchestral score. In 1 flow only, first and second violins play exactly the same music. I assume that to show the score and parts correctly I need to enable condensing for this one flow so that only 1 violin part is shown in the score while both violin 1 and 2 parts have the correct music. Can someone help me to that please? I am using Dorico Pro 6 on Mac OS Tahoe.
Condensing can be enabled only per layout, not per flow.
- In Layout Options > Players > Condensing enable condensing in the score.
- If the violins are defined as section players set Section Players to Condense divisi and adjacent players.
- Go to Engrave Mode and at the beginning of all flows but the first insert a Condensing Change by setting Manual condensing to No condensing

Another (my preferred) option would be to create a third violin player (violini unisono) and use that one for the first flow (only).
You can the add this “player” to both violin 1 and violin 2 layouts.
Make sure to remove the unnecessary violin parts from Flow 1.
thank you
thanks for this suggestion
