Condensing issues with unison pitches and dynamics?

Trombone 2/3 are the same note. It generally makes sense to have trombone 1/2/3 on the same line because they play homorhythmically. I have attached a screenshot.

How should I notate this/fix this issue?

Also, related, why is the dynamic in the trumpet like this? How can I fix it? I’d have thought that the trumpet 2/3 would say “1.” until trumpet 3 came in (removing the rests).

You could try forcing Tbns 2-3 into the same, down-stem voice, so that on the condensed stave Dorico can show “a2” for the down-stem notes and the resulting chord therefore makes it clear who’s playing what.

What are you settings in Library > Notation Options > Condensing for inactive players?

The dynamics are above the staff because of the voices: the active Trumpet on that staff (2) is in the up-stem voice, and because the dynamics aren’t shared with the down-stem voice, they appear above the staff.

Thanks, what you suggested doing worked!
