Hi Folks
I am doing a transposition for someone, and imported the file as an xml into Dorico.
The pics show the “grouping” of the split beat sixteenth in a eighth and a dotted eights (the pic with the white background).
Dorico groups them differently.
I have tried changing every combination of NOTE GROUPING in the NOTATION OPTIONS, but still can’t find which option will do this.
Maybe, here is another setting I don’t know about.
Yes, I could re-enter the notes locking the note duration, but there are a number of these.
Oh yes, the xml file did NOT lock the undesired note grouping.

Please, see this thread. This dotted notes thing is a bit of a sea snake !
Dotted settings
NB : However, note that only since the version 5.1.7 , the notation options will run correctly.
In other way, you can re-input these notes by using the « Force duration » button.
Thanks.
I don’t “blame” Dorico for this…it is unusual notation!
I praise Dorico, though, for letting do a work-around.
I just deleted the tied eighths, set the carat at the correct spot, locked duration and inputted the note.
From there, I just copied and pasted the locked note after selecting the tied eighths.
Oddly, I thought I could select all of the tied notes and cmd-V the copied note, but the results were unusual!
