I’ve got this recording done in a practice room. I’ve mapped out the tempos across the audio file like this:
So at this point my recording and my tempo are in sync.
But the next thing I want to do is conform the audio clip to a single tempo. The average seems to be 123bpm.
How do I do this without manually chopping up each bar and timestretching them?
Not sure that it would be the best way to do the job, but I would, from your tempo track content :
- Go in the Pool window and tick the Musical Mode (so it is ON) of the audio clip involved
- Activate the Warp Grid tool in the arrange page
- Activate the tempo track
At this point, the audio content of your track should follow the map, accordingly to the tempo track one.
After this you could eventually render in place or export your track to a new audio file that could be reused without bothering of the slight initial tempo changes.
Select the audio event.
Go to menu Audio → Advanced Audio → Set Definition from Tempo
Thats it. The event gets switched to Musical Mode automatically and you can deactivate the tempo track (or delete its events).
