I want to run my iPhone/iPad into my UR28M to use the IK Media’s Sample Tank. I know the back of the UR28M has a 2TR input for portable audio devices. Is that the best way to connect an iPhone/iPad. Or should I be connecting the iPhone/iPad using a USB 2.0 adapter from the iPhone/iPad to the UR28M?
I guess what I am asking is is there a way to connect an iPod/iPhone and simply pull the digital audio out of these devices and then send it to a stand-alone DAC and then run it back into the UR28M interface.
I can see that the UR28M has an S/PDIF in/out. I was wondering if I could somehow attacher the iPod/iPhone, pull the digital data send out to a DAC via S/PDIF out, return the post DAC signal back to the UR28M via the S/PDIF in?
Are you sure you have digital output with mobile devices? I don´t think so. And if it will be toslink like on the MacBooks. And for this you will need a toslinke digital to coaxial digital converter, because the UR28M has coax digital input.
