Connecting korg kronos to cubase 12

I’ve been using my Korg Kronos with Cubase 12 without trouble for over a year. Today when opening Cubase the ports for the Korg are unmapped. I’ve tried over and over, swapped cables, no luck, just can’t connect. Why could it suddenly stop working? Thanks

Is the Kronos connected via USB and have you installed any new USB devices lately?

Korg USB-MIDI devices on Windows must be registered within the first 10 MIDI device slots (midi0–midi9) to function correctly , due to a limitation in the KORG USB-MIDI Driver.

Edit: Person in the comments with a Kronos was having a similar problem as you it seems.

Or are you using Win 11 and your OS received the midi update?

Thanks for your reply - although my Kronos was only fourth in the slot, I noticed a corrupt driver above it - I deleted this and the Kronos back. Many thanks

Glad you got it fixed. I’ve had issues twice before on my previous computer with Korg devices. Was always to do with that list.
