Consistency between the voices in the Condensing

I am having a problem with the voices when condensing is enabled, how can I make the first Chord look like the second—attached together?

Without more context it is difficult to say.
My guess is that the previous phrase is prevalently in two voices with different rhythms.
Remember that Dorico considers one phrase anything between rests.

If this is the case, @Fabio_H_Dentello , you should add a manual condensing change in an appropriate place to have Dorico combine the notes.

But Michele is right: we’d need to see a Dorico excerpt of the section to say for sure.

This is the context:

Fabio,

Thank you, but in something like condensing we really need to see a Dorico file (or appropriate excerpt therefrom) in order to help. The context your image provides shows why the two notes in your original image are the way they are, but we cannot see from your recent image why the notes there are stemmed separately.

Please send the Dorico file. I have been on this forum since before Dorico was released, and I have read just about every message posted since then. I have never seen a complaint that someone’s material was “stolen” after being posted here.

Yeah, it’s literally only that staff (i.e. the two instruments) that we need to see in the file. And probably only one or two phrases before and after the current ones.

In engrave mode, click the first notes in the screenshot. Add a condensing change. Click the checkbox by the horns. Apply and exit.

That should be enough to tell D that a new phrase starts there, no matter what happens before. And then your long note ending with the 8-note should turn into single stem.

From the excerpt you posted in another thread. You needed a manual condensing change.
