I work with a rather large template, with many tracks. Almost every time I open the key editor for a part it has the wrong setup of controller lanes. I do use controller lane presets, but that would be an additional key command I have to hit every time I edit a part.
Is there a way to make such a controller lane preset to be the default?

Every MIDI Part remembers its own Controller Lanes setup. You should see the same setup you had, when you close the Key Editor of the MIDI Part last time.
As a workaround, you can make a Macro to open Key Editor and call the Controller Lane preset.
Okay, thank you, I have created a macro but now how can I assign a key to it? No matter what I do, the key gets assigned to a “command” (top pane) and not to the selected macro (bottom pane). What am I doing wrong? I recall it used to be easy to do it?..
