let’s say I am using the build in gate on the console and I want to add a reverb after that.
there’s a very definite reason why you would want the gate BEFORE the reverb. however, in Cubase 7’s console, you can’t change the order of the different mixer segments, so I would have to use an actual gate plugin. this defeats the whole purpose of having a mixer console.
I’d suggest Steinberg to take a look at Propellerhead’s Reason Mixer because it allows you to change the signal flow.
In the Channel Settings window you can specify the routing. Look for the “<>” symbol in the Strip tab header. Click it to set “Move Channel Strip to Pre-Inserts Position”.
