Constant ASIO spikes with 9.0.40 projects using VEPro over network

Has anyone successfully loaded up 9.0.40 VEPro-based projects in C10?

Projects that ran fine in 9.0.40 are causing constant ASIO spikes in 10. I don’t use ASIO guard and VEPro is connected to slave machines via Ethernet. Enabling ASIO guard in 10 makes it better but then you can’t change tracks during playback. And 9.0.40 didn’t need ASIO guard on my system so it seems 10 shouldn’t, either.

Any guesses where to start looking?
