When I add any music file to Wavelab 12 and try to play it, it plays ok but constant hissing noise starts at the same time. This noise remains after I close Wavelab, and actually the only way to stop it is to restart PC.
I have Windows 10 and Sound Blaster XFi Titanium sound card, which is old but works ok.
Wavelab settings have only Creative ASIO as Audio Device, no other options to choose.
Also, judging by Wavelab welcome screen, the microphone seems to start working every time I open Wavelab, even though I do not have mic in my system, at all. Cannot turn this off. The noise sounds like that mic noise.
Any way to fix this? Other apps work OK, and old Wavelab 6 worked ok too. This new one…
WaveLab 12 comes installed with a driver named “Steinberg built-in ASIO driver”.

Look for software mixer turn down gain/volume/level for microphone…
when you start WaveLab with Startup Assistant, have a look for Audio Connections and untick box for Microphone…
