Constantly crashing

When I write a part of a sheet and then use a basic feature it randomly just starts flashing and then it crashes deleting all of my work. So I downloaded the zip file and even though the app has crashed multiple times there was no crash reports in the crash folder.

And the more I worked on the sheet the more it crashed. sometimes when I just expand the bottom panel and touch the button to adjust the size of the bottom panel, the part of the screen that has the sheet just starts flashing and then the whole app just crashes and it doesn’t report it in the Crash folder in the zip file.

Welcome to the forum, @Use. I’m sorry to hear that Dorico is crashing on your iPad a lot. Can. you please search out the crash logs from Settings > Privacy and attach a few of them here, so I can take a look and see what might be going wrong?

I’m sorry for the long delay in coming back to you, @Abraham.H. It looks like the problems mostly come down to the operating system shutting down the Dorico process because it’s trying to consume too much memory.

Are you trying to work on particularly large projects? Your iPad is a 7th generation device, which has only 3GB RAM. It looks as though saving the project can cause crashes, and it’s crashing specifically when trying to write the PDF preview that is embedded in the project. If the project is especially big, then the PDF preview might be big enough to cause Dorico to exhaust the device RAM.

Can you try completely restarting the iPad, and shutting down all other apps when using Dorico? It might also be worth unchecking the checkbox in the Project Info dialog that creates a thumbnail when saving, as that will avoid the PDF creation problem specifically.

Yeh. It crashes more often when I have another app running in the background. And I turned off the preview and that also helped a lot.
