Contextual Menu For Selection Type

As the title says…ha! I’ve been using SLP for a couple years daily and this only dawned on me today while editing. Setting selection type is always a mouse move to the toolbar currently, man, would it save time to have the selection type pop-up next to the mouse pointer. So, tagging @Robin_Lobel

@ctreitzell Setting selection type as in, using the Cursor Selection (default selection tool) and being able to switch between time selection and frequency selection ? And when using the Marquee Selection tool (the rectangular one), being able to switch between Rectangular and Elliptic ?

No, setting Replace, Add, Subtract or Intersect

I’m happy with setting the selection tool with shortcut keys. I didn’t investigate if Replace, Add, Subtract or Intersect can already be chosen using shortcut keys. I suppose I should look there…I didn’t think that was poss, I’ll have a look…I don’t see a keyboard shortcut option for the selection type

Oh, yes of course you can use shortcut keys for Add, Subtract, Intersect.
They’ll show up when you hover the mouse over them:

It’s not user-definable because it’s pretty standard keys for such actions, common to many softwares:

No key: Replace
Shift: Add
Alt: Subtract
Shift+Alt: Intersect

Ah, ok, thanks!

so, I go to look at the SLP Operation Manual and , lo and behold on page 13:
“With the Add to Selection button in the Tool Settings toolbar selected (or by holding
down the Shift key),”
