I’m setting up for more headphones work and want to be able to toggle inserts on and off in the Phones channel in Control Room (and later same for Main). Is this possible in any way?
Key commands and/or Eucon.
Right now I’m not seeing anything for either.
Bonus: any way to remotely switch Phones between “Mix” and Cues?
Create different monitors for your headphones, one with inserts, one with out. Buy Cubase IC Pro for a tablet or phone and switch between monitors. That is exactly what I do on film sets for the last several years.
I could be wrong, but it appears to me that the inserts under “Monitor” are after the send from “Main” to the “Mix” input in “Phones”.
In other words this would only work if my headphones were taking the “Main” output signal in my interface and was just a duplicate of that. I’m already using the “Monitors” for other things so even if I could reassign a couple it still wouldn’t work for me.
PS: I tried this by sending noise from a generator to my main mix output bus which was the source in CR, then in “main” switched between ABCD presets with a Studio EQ on one of them set to cut everything above 30Hz and also dropped gain to -20dB, and I hear no difference with my Phones channel set to “Mix”.
If anyone cares my temporary workaround is to set up a separate output bus and route my mix output bus to it, place plugins there which I can access using the PLE, and then from there send to Cue 1.
What is annoying about this is that I now don’t get access to the different sources I can choose in CR, I just get the main mix. I suppose I could do this more than once and pick up different sources within the mixer, but this all seems a bit clunky and limiting compared to just having access to the inserts in the Phones channel directly.
