Hi gents of the forum,
I’ve recently acquired a MIDI keyboard (specifically the Arturia Keylab Essentials 61 mk3) and it has several fancy faders and encoders on it. I can use the faders in Cubase to manage all kinds of settings, however it would be great if I could also use them to modify the track volume of the instruments in Dorico (the volume sliders in Play mode, not the VST).
I have searched through all of the webs but for now I have not been able to find any way of doing this. I’ve been fiddling with the controls for a few days now without result. Going through Halion Sonic also doesn’t seem to work (it will only control the volume of the first instrument, never the 2nd, 3rd, etc. - even though each fader is set to write CC7 to a different MIDI channel).
Is there any way to control the volume like this in Dorico 5 at the moment?
This may sound like a useless feature, but it would be really useful if I could turn tracks on/off as the music is playing back. It would allow me to bring certain instruments forward temporarily or to isolate certain instruments and have a listen at their individual interaction, all without having to start/stop the playback and all whilst I can keep looking at the score. (I can do this now from the Play menu by moving the sliders, but it’s only 50% of the effect as I can’t “read along”).
Cheers,
Gavin
