Controlling Volume Automation and CC7 with a Behringer BCF

Hey all,

I have a question regarding using a Behringer BCF2000 Midi instruments, VSTi’s and to use it to control volume track automation.

Currently, I use the first fader of the BCF to control CC7 on my midi tracks on the selected midi track. I was wondering if I can change what it controls depending on what kind of track or parameter is selected. For instance, If I’m trying to write automation on a volume for a track (where I’d use the mouse normally to record the movement), is there a way to program the first fader to do that while ALSO allowing me to use it as a CC7 controller on a midi track? OR do I need another fader specifically for each purpose?

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, you can do this kind of dynamic mapping. You have two ways.

A) Use the Quick Controls. Map the 1st fader to the Track Quick Control 1. Then at every single track, you can map, what kind of parameter should Quick Control 1 do/control.

B) Use the AI Knob. In the MIDI Remote, you can map the 1st fader to the AI Knob. Then the fader will control any parameter, you hover your mouse over.
