Hello. Can you configure VSTL to convert the absolute MIDI CC value received from a controller’s encoder to a relative value?
I am trying to use an encoder on a Novation Impulse to change the volume in a layer. It does this but always jumps to the vale (0-127) that the encoder is currently positioned at.
If possible, I would like the volume set in the layer to move up or down relative to the encoder movement. Thanks.
But your wish is to use the “left-rotated-impulse” and “right-rotated-impulse” to increase/decrease volume in fragments. But the rotary button is sending 2 values only. One value for left and one value for right, nothing more.
//But… maybe… maybe… if you a have StreamDeck (do you?) you could convert these msg’s (via a plugin), or maybe applications can do such a transfer to increase or decrease the e.g. volume level maybe.//
Hello Felician. Thanks for responding. I don’t have a Streamdeck but can see how it be of use. That said, I’m playing live with two controllers, a pedal board, an audio interface and a laptop so trying to keep the number of devices to a minimum.
I just wondered if there was some way in the VSTL set up to convert the messages. My understanding is that it can be done in certain DAWs.
