These days I go back to Finale for only 2 reasons - one is to export old music. The other - and this is important - is to convert swing notation to notated tuplets, using the JW Meter and Rhythm plugin. When making AI vocal demos, online generators don’t do swing interpretation, so it’s necessary to convert the xml to tuplet notation to get a reasonable result. (What Cantai might do remains to be seen - hopefully it will take Dorico’s interpretation, and I haven’t messed with Synthesizer V, it requiring SO MUCH editing to be useful… )
But, there are other circumstances where conversion to tuplets would be useful, such as giving swing parts to classical string players. So much the better if it could be done locally…
So much of what I needed scripting and plugins for in Finale is native in Dorico - but not this. I’d like to suggest it as a possible addition for consideration. feature-request
