Convinve me I need Cubase 8.5

Thank you all for your replies.

I have spent quite a long time now on it, using it as best I can, and TEEF I whole heartedly agree, that inability to pull up a plugins name or GUI in the mixer is a deal breaker.

I can say that 6.5 is where my experience with Cubase will end, I will not be upgrading.

In my opinion 8.5 is a large step backwards in terms of workrate. The flashy GUI is horrible, the simple ability to open a plugins GUI from the mixer is more than a reason not to move.

And yes, 8.5 is a hog on resources over 6.5 (ASIO Load) I attribute this to AERO being needed.

I can happily stick with 6.5 and work with that though, its not like i’ve lost anything.

I would have loved Quadrafuzz 2 though in 6.5

I will be looking for a more up to date DAW that will not deviate too far from it’s origins.

Thanks for the replies ppl.

What do you mean by the simple ability to open a plugin gui from mixer?

FWIW, I removed 8.5 from the system last night. I didn’t experience higher ASIO loads though but my system is pretty substantial though a tad old.
