Copy CC2 with Midi Region to new track

Hello - I am working on Mac version (Cubase 13 Pro) in M2 Silicon. Here’s the scenario: I am importing older MIDI files into a new template I’ve set up in Cubase. I’d like to drag the MIDI files from the imported tracks/regions to the designated ones in the template. When I drag the MIDI event regions, the CC data does not come along for the ride. I believe I’ve got everything checked properly. Any thoughts? It’s got me stuck … THANKS!!

Steve

Hi,

I believe, you are talking about dragging the MIDI Part. Are the MIDI CCs data included in the given MIDI Part?

Could you attach screenshots, please?

Thanks so much for replying. Yes they are in the original MIDI part. Copy/drag on the same part carries the CC data. Trying to drag to a different MIDI track seems to erase all CC data.

Highly unlikeyl. We need to see it.

Isn’t there a setting in preferences to allow CC DATA to copy with a part. Check and see if that will fix it.

CC events are just like note events and are always inside a part. So if you move the part the data gets moved with it.
Only if the MIDI CC is converted to (VST) automation data it can be outside a part.
A screenshot would tell us whether @beeps.defense-0b deals with real MIDI CC or with VST automation.

Thanks to all. I discovered, after ruling out all of the suggestions here, that there is a setting I missed in the prefs about how to import midi files … and Cubase was changing cc to another event type. Not Cubase’s fault, but mine. Thanks again!
