This seems to be a bug in Cubase 14.
When selecting an audio event (or midi event) in a project,
the option “Copy” is not available in the Edit
menu (it is grayed out).
I did notice that if you double click the audio (and it comes up in the bottom panel editor), then the Copy
function is available.
I noticed this issue after updating to Cubase 14.
I’ve tried reseting the settings to default Cubase 14, and still seeing the issue.
Steps to recreate:
- From a new project, record any audio track
- Select the audio event
- Open

Cubase 14 Pro 14.0.5
Hi,
What you marked on the screenshot is not an Audio Track, this is an Audio Event which is selected.
As Copy is not enabled in the menu, the focus is on another area of Cubase. But I must admit, visually, the focus seems to be on the given area.
Sorry, I got confused on the naming. The audio event and midi event is what I’m trying to copy and paste - but am unable to. While it’s highlighted like that i can duplicate it, but not copy and paste.
(I made the edit on the original so it reads “Event”)
FYI, this got fixed in the 14.0.10 release.
Cut, Copy and Paste commands when using the "Combine Selection Tools" mode now work as expected.
