Copy paste problem

Hi, I am trying to copy paste from one part to another with Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V.
When I paste it into another voice, the old voice remains, so I have to delete it first in order to paste it. Copying with the Alt-function gives the same result. How can I change this?

You probably would enjoy using a "move to staff above/below command (alt-n/m)
Just sayin…

Although move/duplicate to staff below/above also preserves the original notes, it doesn’t overwrite them, as the OP seemed to want.
