Copy-pasting in two separate voices

Hi

New to Dorico and I am trying to figure out how to copy and paste two separate voices into one new line but keep them as separate voices. I can paste one in but if I try to paste the other over it, it will erase the first voice. I tried to go edit>paste special>paste to voice>new downstream voice which is what my friend with Dorico Pro 5 told me to do but it is not working. Is this something I can do in Dorico elements 5 or am I on a pointless journey here? Someone please help. Monkey covering eyes emoji

Are you copying the source material from (a) measure(s) already containing both voices, or trying to copy material to up-stem voice 1 then separately copy other material into down-stem voice 1?

I am trying to copy material into upstem voice 1 then copy separately into downstem voice one

Welcome to the forum — and Dorico, @lillylils!

I hope the display of key commands makes things clear. (NB the addition of the down-stem voice 1 before applying paste.)

Extra tip: Judd appears to have selected the notes with a click and a Shift-click, but you can select a whole bar by clicking in an empty part of the staff, not on the notes.

And welcome to the forum!
