Steps to reproduce:
- Select events on multiple tracks and copy them using Cmd/Ctrl + C.
- Deselect all tracks.
- Select any single track in the project.
- Position yourself somewhere in the project and paste using Cmd/Ctrl + V.
- Observe that the top selected event is pasted onto the selected track and that new tracks are created below it.
I don’t know if this is a bug or “feature”, but the behaviour is illogical: When copying multiple events and pasting them, they should – by default – end up on the original tracks they were copied from.
If I in fact were to create new tracks in the same move as copy/pasting, it’s better (and gives more control) mouse draging the events to new tracks. In my case I can have 50+ Kontakt based tracks with MIDI, and if I – by accident – has a track selected when pasting multiple events from them, Nuendo will create 50 (memory consuming) instrument tracks, sometimes overloading the RAM.
