Copy rhythm but not pitch

Is there a way to copy a rhythm to existing pitches? I have this rhythm, but want it notated differently. I know how to fix that using Force Duration - but the rhythm is repeated throughout the piece so it’s a bit tiresome.

Thanks in advance!

Normally this is done using time signatures with specific beam grouping.
For your example shift-M [2+2+2]/4 would get you quite close.

6/4 is generally understood to be 3+3 beats. If you want a 2+2+2 grouping, you better notate it as 3/2.

If I might add: The 3+3 grouping applies to all pieces that have the numerator 6 in the primary time signature. There are pieces though which are primarily in 4/4 and sometimes have a single longer measure with 6 beats in between. The latter are then usually grouped 2+2+2.

You can enter the rhythm the way you want it once with Force Duration, copy it wherever it occurs, then hit Lock Duration (L) and input the correct pitches. Not helpful if you’ve already input the pitches of course, but if you are still inputting and just want to avoid all the Force Duration work, it’s definitely a timesaver.

Thanks! That makes perfect sense.

Thanks! Of course that’s the intention. My mistake.

Thanks for the tip!

You could use 6/4 with force duration on the first measure and then start a hidden 3/2 in the second measure if the pattern is consistent and you or your client insists on the 6/4 time signature.
