I have a client with a lot of fiddly and non-standard lines, text items, and playing techniques. What is the best way to get those into all the templates I’ve been working on? I could I think copy and paste, then delete things or try to get every custom thing set in one file and duplicate it, add and remove players, etc. I do have several templates already underway and I’m hoping there’s a better way to export/import these sorts of things.
If the library manager can do this, can someone point me to a good video on how to use the library manager? I find it a bit confusing.
Open your template, then the Library manager. Select Dorico project at the upper right and find the file with the fiddly stuff. Then, in the left panel, find Line styles, Line body styles, Line annotations, and Playing techniques, etc., and for each, click the small arrow. Or if you only want to import certain things, click the arrow for each in the main panel after you selected in the left panel. Finally, Apply and Close, resave your template. You can also select Engraving, Layout, Notation Options… in the upper left, and import stuff from the main panel if needed, the same way.
