Correct uninstall of previous version

Hi All,
Ive updated to Cubase 8.5

Last time I did a major update I just uninstalled the previous version but this lead to problems and I eventually had to re-install everything.

Is there a correct way to remove a previous version without losing all my plugins etc?
or was I just unlucky?

Hi,

I haven’t had problem with uninstall ever. It’s easier on Mac.
