If I use Shift T and enter something with a mistake in it, how can I correct it if I don’t see it until after I’ve hit return? So far it seems I have to delete it and start over. Is that it?
You can edit the text, etc, if you open the Properties panel (Ctrl-8).

What do you mean? Certainly you can see what you’re typing in the popover…
I touch type so I’m often looking at the source I’m copying from and not at the screen. So I would typically hit enter without looking first. I don’t often make mistakes (he said modestly) because my old job required extreme accuracy. Nevertheless one does just occasionally make an error. Hence, my query.
