"could not create audio directory"

I’m getting an error message when importing audio files in the pool: “could not create audio directory”
Also, when I’m importing audio files from the pool I cannot see their waveform.

Any input on this would be appreciated

I think, this is permission problem.

I get the same message, when I opens project from external HDD, which is NTFS formated, on my Mac. I don’t have permission to write into this HDD.

Try to check this.

No, this is incorrect. It most likely means you don’t have the project you are working on saved and a folder set for it yet. Save the project, set a folder, and reopen. It should work. It has nothing to do with permissions.
