Could someone please help me convert this score so it can be played in Dorico?

I’m a beginner, so I can’t use many of the features.

It works in Sibelius and Finale, but

in Dorico, the score disappears in the middle.

op33.mxl (173.6 KB)

The file is a hot mess, sorry. It gives up around bar 280. But there are so many issues with the import.

Here’s the file. Not sure if it’s an improvement on what you were able to get.

I hope at least one of these will help you.

I imported the mxl file into Sibelius (November 2023 version) and MuseScore 4.6.5.
Without making any changes, I exported to PDF from Sibelius and MuseScore.
op33 - Full Score (PDF from Sibelius).pdf (434.7 KB)
op33 (PDF from MuseScore 4).pdf (657.9 KB)

When the mxl file was imported into Dorico 6, as @dan_kreider mentioned, it gave up around bar 280. The problem(s) which caused Dorico to choke might have started a little earlier.

To attempt to have some musicxml of what follows the problem area I did the following:

  1. In MuseScore I deleted from bar 280 and then exported to musicxml [op33 (from bar 1 to 279 exp from MSc)].

  2. In MuseScore I deleted everything before bar 280 and then exported to musicxml [op33(exp from MSc from bar 280)] .

3, 4 & 5. Dorico choked when importing that, so deleted the first bar of that (which is the original bar 280) and exported what remained (from bar 281 to the end). That imported into Dorico without any apparent problems, as did the next two exports which were from bar 282 and 283 respectively.

Without having checked the original mxl file against any of the others, I would guess that up to about bar 279 should be OK, as should the exports from after bar 280 to the end.

Here are all the resulting musicxml files.
op33 (from bar 1 to 279 exp from MSc).musicxml (3.1 MB)
op33(exp from MSc from bar 280).musicxml (1.7 MB)
op33(exp from MSc from bar 281).musicxml (1.6 MB)
op33(exp from MSc from bar 282).musicxml (1.6 MB)
op33(exp from MSc from bar 283).musicxml (1.6 MB)

You will probably need to import the file from bar 1 to 279 into Dorico, then the file from 281 to the end. After re-inputting the problematic bar 280 at the end of the first import, copy the 2nd import and paste it at the end of the first one.

Steven, this is a double post of Mr. @NIER
we have dealt with it already.

OK. Nice to know that, if a little belatedly. Despite that, I hope that what I did was of some use, particularly with the musicxml files. NIER is a beginner after all (joined 13 Jan). If someone requests assistance, my natural instinct is to help if I think I can. After all, that is what this forum is for.
