I’ve finished a big band chart for HS jazz ensemble and a percussionist friend wants to use it with a student he teaches private drum set lessons to. I sent him an mp3 of the full score recording and a pdf of the drum set part for his student to play from as he listens to the chart. He asked if I could make another mp3 recording of the full score with a 4 count click-in for his student. After finding what I thought was the solution, it just plays the click or beep track along with the recording but I don’t know what to do to have a 4 count click to play before the recording starts in bar 1. What am I doing wrong?
UPDATE: I found that in order to hear the count in, instead of just highlighting a 1st note in the 1st bar hand hitting “P”, you have to hit the red “record” button and it plays it.
