Courtesy Accidental in Condensed Part Disappears

Hello,

I have a score with Trombone 1 and Trombone 2 that I will show condensed. In the fifth measure of the screenshot below, I need the bone 1 to have a courtesy D natural cancelation (parenthesis). Here is the un-condensed score showing the courtesy D natural is in place:

However, when I apply condensing, the courtesy D natural is not showing.

How do I force it to show the courtesy natural in the condensed part? If I had to guess, I would say it has something to do with the Bone 2 having a D flat in bar 3, fourth beat but I don’t know why that would make a difference.

Thank you!

Fortunately, a simple question to Claude answered my question so no need to respond. In case anyone needs the solution here it is:

  1. Open your Full Score layout (where condensing is active)
  2. Make sure condensing is turned on — Layout Options → Players → Condensing
  3. In the condensed score, select the note that needs the courtesy accidental (the D natural on the Trombone 1 line within the condensed staff)
  4. In the Properties panel (bottom), look for the Accidentals group
  5. Enable “Visibility” and set it to “Show accidental” (or toggle “Accidental” to force it on)

This is an incomplete (incorrect) solution, because you can only select the note for a condensed layout if you are in Engrave Mode.

You could have got a much better answer from one of our forum members (who happens to be called Claude, too).

I sense a little hostility toward AI here. I am sure you are right. But it led me in the right direction before the question was answered, though as Janus points out, it was an incomplete answer. I will uncheck “solved” should anyone wish to offer the perfect answer. (Though my issue is solved.)
