CPU Spike

I am having an issue using Cubase because it is not using its Multi-Processing feature. It’s using only one core, core 9 to be exact.

Any Ideas?

how can i find out if my cubase is using all cores?
what is that program from your screenshot?(In other words)

I presume you have the Use Multiprocessor option in Cubase selected (and Steinberg Audio Power)? Crotchety

PS: sorry, i think that’s what you meant first time, sin’t it?

where is the Use Multiprocessor option?

Devices → Device Setup → VST Audio System

then look at the right side for the Multiprocessing check box.

The program is the Resource Monitor. Either paste the name into the Window Menu search box or access it from the Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) Performance Tab, which is worth a look itself. In the RM Resource tab, if you see twice as many CPUs as you were expecting, then you’re running with Hyperthreading on (set in BIOS).

Hi,

You may experience this windows bug → There is high CPU usage when using a USB audio device connected to a USB 2.0 EHCI host controller - Microsoft Support

In this case you see a CPU spike on only ONE processor (the one which runs the USB driver) about every 15s.

I have this bug on my machine and can’t correct it because there is something anormal around usbport.sys versions.
