CPU usage and buffer doesn't help

I’m running quite a few plugins, CPU meter in Cubase is maxing out. I change my (Roland Quad Capture) buffer from 512 to 4096, and there is no change in the CPU meter. Why is this? I’m hoping I can get more processing power by sacrificing the buffer timing?? Any ideas?

Likely because you have ASIO Guard enabled.
