cpu useage

Hi

I have a W7 laptop running cubase 8.5 pro
usually I record and monitor using my focusrite saffire 6. occassionally when I just want to listen and edit a little, I use the on board soundcard, which, up to a point was ok. However since upgrading from 8 - 8.5, even just one instance of Groove agent 4 SE causes big jumps in cpu usage


Any ideas

Are you using asio4all driver with the built in sound?

Dunno if this can help your specific problem but I know for sure that some older VST instrument still works with 32 bits (as before on XP for instance) so they will be hungry for the CPU while others (the newer one you got) wont be tough on CPU as they work on 64 bit.
