Crash 2-9-24

Hi! Had a couple of crashes this morning.

Hi, are you sure they were crashes or just hangs, i.e. the app is still in the task list, but does not respond to any input?
I’m asking because the diagnostics don’t contain any crash files.

Yes, the app was in the task-list at least in one of the instances. But then we’re talking about 2min hang.

Thanks for clarification. Even if it hangs forever, technically that is not a crash. For the engineers that makes a big difference (of course not for the users, because it does not work).
If it is not crashing, then we’d like to ask you to create dump files, where we can have a look where exactly it is hanging.

Therefore I’m asking you to download the free utility ProcessExplorer. It’s really tiny and I’d like you to run procexp64.exe in parallel to Dorico. If the hanging behaviour occurs again, turn to ProcessExplorer and have a look for a process called VSTAudioEngine5.exe. On the right top of ProcessExplorer where is says ‘’ you can enter the letters vst. Is the VSTAudioEngine5 still listed. If so, then please do a right click on the VSTAudioEngine5.exe item and choose from the pop-up menu Create > Create Mini Dump. Follow the instruction on screen and then send me the corresponding dump file to u dot stoermer at steinberg dot de
