Crash Cymbal Noteheads

Please see the screen shot. I set up Crash Cymbals in the kit to have “Diamonds and X’s” but my publisher wants all diamonds with no X’s. I went to Setup Mode and selected that instrument and went to “Edit Percussion Kit” and then to “Edit Noteheads” told Dorico I wanted “Diamond Noteheads” but, as you can see, the X’s are still there. I am missing something.

Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Can you share your project, or a cut-down version of it?

Aaron,

Here is a portion of the piece. I need to convert the X quarter notes in the crash cymbal part to diamond shapes. I tried going into the drum kit for the cymbals and changing the noteheads to all diamonds but the X’s don’t want to go away. I also tried going to Edit>Notations>Notehead>Notehead Type and changing individual noteheads to diamonds but could not get that to work either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Like this? You already had the cymbals set to diamond noteheads, so I just selected all the notes and did right-click->Notehead->Reset to default notehead.
(Select the first cymbal note->Edit->Select to end of flow->Edit->Filter->Notes and chords, then right-click->Notehead->Reset to default notehead.)

Jesper,

What I can’t figure out is why did the noteheads not change when I went into the percussion kit and told Dorico that I wanted that instrument to have only diamond noteheads. Why all the extra steps?

Thanks again.

Gary

Maybe you changed noteheads manually first.

Jesper

That is possible.

Thanks again.
