Crash on Unmixing Stems

Hi there, I know I am the exotic user here analysing bat calls with Spectralayers, so my observation may not be relevant for most users, but I thought I report it anyway:

When trying to run “Unmixing Stems” on the song of a Pipistrellus nathusii bat (see screenshot) I get SpectraLayers to crash repeatedly. Not sure this operation would provide me any useful results at the end but the application should not crash on whatever wav file, me thinks.

If someone at Steinberg wants the wav file, no problem but you need to tell me how to send it. It seems I can’t attach a wav file here.

Alfred

Hi Alfred, please send the wav file to contact [at] divideframe.com as well as the SpectraLayers crash dump file located in Documents/Steinberg/CrashDumps and the log files located in %appdata%/Steinberg/SpectraLayers 7.0/logs. Thanks !

Alfred - have you updated to the latest SL7 patch ? 7.0.10

@ Robin: I have sent a link to the files for download.

@ dr: Yes I had, but thanks for asking.

was worth a try

ps - those bat spectral plots are nice

dr, the guys want to impress the girls - always the same story

 - only the guys squeek ?

Well, all bats emit echolocation calls when they hunt of course but this kind of song/social calls are only made by the males to attract the females.

as you say - it’s why I learned guitar… (didn’t work though!)
