Cubase Pro 14.0.5 throws the “serious event” dialog for me (Win10) when dragging and dropping a MIDI event over top of a pattern event.
After that dialog box, I saved a new version of the project file.
After re-starting Cubase, trying to re-open the post crash version of the project file crashes Cubase immediately during opening of the project.
After that, I had to restart Windows because Cubase wouldn’t even start anymore.
I’ve submitted the crash reports also via the Cubase prompt, but also attach them here. In addition, I’ve attached the 2 versions of the minimalist project file I’ve created specifically for this bug report.
The version 01 project file contains 2 MIDI tracks:
- the first MIDI track contains a single MIDI event with a single MIDI note
- the second MIDI track contains a single pattern event with a random generated patter.
In this project file (version 01), I dragged the MIDI event from track 1 over top of the Pattern event on track 2. - Resulting in the “A serious problem has occurred …” dialog box.
After dismissing that dialog box (via the OK button), I used the “Save new Version” command, creating the second project file (version 02), which crashes Cubase on opening.
I 'm not sure, but that (now faulty) project file may have the MIDI event on the same track and overlapping the Pattern event?
Attachments:
-
A zip file containing the project folder with version 01 and version 02 of the project files.
-
Also attached a zip file with 2 Crash Dumps (also submitted via the automated process upon Cubase startup).
- The first crash dump being right after the drag and drop in project version 01.
- The second crash dump being from attempting to open version 02 of the project.
