This happened when attempting to use audio alignment involving a lead vocal and a single harmony vocal track on a project whih had been most recently used in Cubase 9.5.40. I saved a new version of the project in Cubase 10 before testing the audio alignment feature, which prompted me to bounce my audio events before it could process the alignment. I did the bounces and Cubase crashed & produced a dump file when I clicked the button to align the tracks.
