i am gettng multiple crashes cubase 12 pro (12.0.7.)
windows 10 pro.
this is what happens
i assign a vca track to each set of multiple drums etc egsample three kicke , hav a vca fader then ito their own sub group … sane with snares , oh rand rooms and so on then they go to all drum subgroup ,
all vca faders are then linked to gether …but this project wont let me do the latter (nesting a set of vca faders to be controlled by one master vca ).
as soon as i pres the link button i get a crash cubase will exit completly upon restart this will happen again and again …
any ideas ??
crsh.dmp to follow soon
cubase has not written a crash dump file … that is a first for me
now i am well confused (not that i can understand the crsh.dmp file much anyway)
Generate a DMP file and share it via Dropbox or similar service, please.
Use Microsoft ProcDump utility to generate a DMP file, please.
Please download ProcDump64 from Microsoft (~650kB) and extract the archive to a local folder on your harddisk.
Run Command Prompt (cmd) as administrator (right click and select “run as administrator”)
Navigate (in the Command Prompt) to the folder with the extracted procdump file.
cd C:\ Users \ \ Downloads \ Procdump
Note: the dmp file will be written into that folder.
Launch Cubase/Nuendo. You can work as usual. At any time, change to the command prompt and start procdump, to monitor Cubase/Nuendo for unexpected behavior (see next step).
Launch procdump64 via Command Prompt:
procdump64 -e -h -t Cubase12
procdump64 -e -h -t Nuendo12
The -h option will write a dmp file in case of an application hang. This might kick in too early sometimes, in case some action takes a little longer. Feel free to skip the “-h” option, if you are only up for fetching crashes.
The option -e will catch exeptions and the option -t terminations of the application.
- Prodump is now monitoring the Cubase/Nuendo process and will write a crash log, in case Cubase/Nuendo crashes or hangs. Perform the action that causes Cubase/Nuendo to crash and send us the generated crash dmp.
ZIP and share the DMP file via Dropbox or similar service, please.
Thanks Martin !
i will do this once i get time .
i have fixed the problem by simply deleting the target vca and replacing it with one created by the group tracks function so far so good i have two more songs to do this for and will see if the problem arises if so i will then use that procdump64.
i hope this was a one off problem caused by a corrupt instance of my mix template this has never happen before .
i am doing a nine song album for a custumer and have not had this proble on the other six tracks they all went according to plan…
i will keep you posted.
once again martin thank you so much for being here for us … if i ever meet you in person i will buy you a beer or three.
FIXED .see above ,
seems like it was a one off thing …scared me a bit though…
all good …
