Create A Selection From Audio?

Is there a way to create a selection from audio?

For example, after running Unmix Noisy Speech>
then,
(automatically) create a selection from the unmixed speech audio.

goodness, that would save me a lot of time

I could see this be a guaranteed crash because a huge, complicated selection would grab a big chunk of RAM.

So selection area might need to be limited to a short time

looking at the other thread about SL11 Tools…I guess I’m also asking about the imprint tool? I’ll have to try it out…

Seriously, creating a “Selection From Existing Audio” would single-handedly help me with the work I do more than anything else

I’m always editing NR on two mics (Lav and boom) which recorded the same scene…90% of the of the work separating elements of speech, sync fx (birds, ambient transients, etc), and unwanted noise for one mic works for the other mic

There are, of course, ways to workaround; like create layer copies> then, reverse polarity and adjust volume to balance levels being one way

I haven’t found Imprint to be useful for this…maybe I didn’t dig deep enough…or experiment enough
