Create drum map from instrument is broken in Cubase 13 pro (windows 11)

Found out “Create drum map from instrument” is only available with VST3 instruments.

“They’re coming to take me away…”

P.S. Just loaded Modo Drum which is VST 3.

“Create Drum Map from Instrment” is STILL greyed out.

Calling ambulance.

I’m done.

Apparently the instrument has to support this function which Modo Drum or SD2 don’t provide.

And the BFD 3 map is broken because there is no Pedal hats listed AT ALL.

Certified insane.

So I decide to load Groove Agent which hangs Cubase and takes forever to load which is really strange being a Steinberg product.

I load a kit then “create a midi map from instrument”

I press the midi map notes corresponding to the listed kit pieces.

NOTHING ,NOT A SINGLE SOUND!

Certified brain dead.

What the hell is going on???

I decided the change the sample rate of the project.

Set it back to 48k which fixed the hanging Groove Agent problem.

Created a midi map from instrument.

Still NO SOUND!

Groove Agent set to instrument mode not pattern.

The actual keys corresponding to the patterns like “Intro,Chorus” actually work but the instrument midi map assignments make no sound at all.

So Cubase has bugs as well?

So the function “create midi maps from instrument” is BROKEN in the latest version of Cubase 13 Pro?

Sending Steinberg a support ticket.

Also when creating a midi map from instrument using BFD 3,the pedal hats were not listed and I clicked every single note in the midi map and no pedal hats were found.

Brain cells gone, need a stiff drink.

Going to exercise instead otherwise I will be legally insane.

The only conclusion I can come up with is it’s a Windows 11 issue?

Should I go back to Windows 10?

Will Cubase 13 Pro function on Windows 10??

This feature only works if the manufacturer of the plug-in chooses chooses to implement it. Besides Steinberg the only folks I know who have chosen to implement it are BFD, although I half recall someone pointing out another product a few years back.
