Write mode, Window > Show Right zone

Or click on the note, Shift-H, ferm Enter

You can also find this in the user guide as you already know its name

Last note in a tie

I did that, I don’t want the stock Fermata. I would like to have the thinner one.image.png

The one you show looks like it’s from a handwritten font. Did you try Petaluma font options, are they nearer?

It’s from Finale, Broadway Copyist.

Do you want that exact fermata, or a similar one?
Did you know some of the Finale fonts (can be installed or) are already installed and used in Dorico?

I was able to use Shift-X (add text) to add in a Finale Broadway fermata, it is text, not a real one, so it will not pause if you are playing it. Use Engrave mode if you have it to move it into place.

I am not sure if you only want one fermata showing as this one or all of them, or if you want the complete font(s) changed to Finale Broadway or just music symbols.
I think the fermata is in Music symbols font which you can change to Broadway or edit:

Someone else hopefully will give you specific options, if you are able to give us more information related to what you want to do.

Thank you! Exactly what I was looking for, 30 years in Finale, switched to Dorico October, 2024. I should have done it sooner but hadn’t heard of Dorico till then.
Thanks again !

Glad you have it sorted

I have tried the same for the Segno , but I’m unable to change the look of it.

Oh, right, so you have not changed the music font and symbols to that font, you just want individual ones changed (as cosmetic)?

Previously but still valid: (see next post)
From here
https://w3c.github.io/smufl/releases/1.4/tables/repeats.html
mouse drag over it and copy, Shift-X, paste, then select it again and change to Broadway (or presumably change to Broadway then paste.)

And I found a “better” way which is built in.
Shift-X, right click, Insert music text use the search field at the top, or click for the dropdown menu to peruse the extensive categories (or you might prefer using the previous posts link if you do not know what the symbol is called exactly, click on the category on the left and the various glyphs appear on the right.)
Make sure it is set to your Broadway.

(Edited to make the answer more generic for anyone wanting to add a symbol/glyph as text.)

Yes, thank you.
