Create layout template with cover page for each flow

Hi,

I want to create a layout template for a compilation of scores from different composers.

I want each flow to have its own cover page showing title, subtitle and composer name.

Watching videos on this matter, I understand that you can use the default masters by copying them and modifying to suit my needs.

The issue I’m having are:

-When creating a cover page for the flow, at the point where I change the text from project to flow ({@flowtitle@}), not only does it change for my new coverage, but also for the project cover page as well.

e.g.: text goes from project to flow.

-I also understand that by typing, e.g. {@flowtitle@}, it changes by flow. Yet, it not behaving that way, so I’m actually manually adding the number of the flow to each flow cover page.

I’m hoping to be making sense with all this.

Any help/guidance is very much appreciated.

I don’t have a solution, but I guess the problem is that Dorico doesn’t really know about the flow change until it has actually happened. So you are asking for a cover sheet before the event.

It’s possible even without page overrides.

The flow information is considered in the flow headers and also in the First page template unfortunately the flow title is not considered.

You can insert cover pages by creating a title page template for the first flow and duplicates for the subsequent flows. Individual flow titles can be specified by {@flowntitle@} where the n in the middle can be replaced by an ordinal number like {@flow3title@} . The drawback is that you need an unique page template for each flow.

When you duplicate a page template by choosing based on you have to recreate the text frames which contain individual tokens, otherwise any change is propagated to the source of the duplication.

This is a very simple example
