Is it possible to create custom barlines, such as this thick double bar from Haydn?

This occurs quite often in the String Quartets.

Not without re-tasking the existing barlines. Your best bet would be to create a custom playing technique, and drag it into place on top of the existing barline.

The downside of this is that there is still one bar of real time in between the two thick barlines. This will result in a bar of silence at that point on playback. If playback is not important, this leaves only the visual element.
