After trying to upgrade from Cubase Pro 11 to 15, running into endless seemingly circular problems [this doesn’t work because that isn’t registered and that won’t register because of some problem with this manager, etc..], and reading through the forum posts about it, I can’t help thinking the old dongle system was way less trouble. I never had a single problem with it, & never had to spend extra time on it, where these new upgrade paths are so complicated & intertwined, that -all things considered- just wrapping my head around it seems futile.
I’ve submitted a support ticket, but from what I’ve read so far, feel like it will likely never be resolved, and I’ll have to resign to flushing $175 down the toilet and try to learn Reaper.
I’m in that hopeless tangle of unwittingly having created an extra account or 2 over the years, some with lost log-in details, not knowing from which one I purchased the upgrade from, nor which one my lisence was already registered in, thus blocking it from any currently available account. What a nightmare…and I’m sure there are many many more people in such situations, who have given up.
