Creating an expression map

Sorry for so basic a question, but I’m new at this aspect of things:

In Using Expression Maps in Dorico | Play Mode in Dorico - YouTube, Anthony Hughes demonstrates how to use expression maps.

At one point, he shows how to create a new expression map for an instrument from his East-West sample library, but then he does something that I don’t understand: at Using Expression Maps in Dorico | Play Mode in Dorico - YouTube, he loads a VST named “Play”, and directs that “Play” VST to use his East-West expression map.

Why did he not simply name the new VST “East-West”? And why “Play”?

Play is the VST that handles the East-West samples library, just as Halion is the VST that handles the Halion Symphony Orchestra sounds

Play is the name of one of the VST that hosts EastWest sounds (the other, newer one is Opus). It would not be unusual to use the name of the VST player (Aria for Garritan sounds, Play or Opus for EW sounds–or HALion for Steinberg sounds).

Ah! Ninja’d by @Janus . :+1:
