Creating CD master with slightly complicated crossfades

Hello

Apologies if this is a straightforward thing that’s easy to do… I’m new to Wavelab and so not very familiar with it’s facilities yet.

I want to prepare tracks for an album that has additional ‘bridging’ sounds between each track and which overlap both. Consequently, anyone listening to the whole album would hear everything as planned. However, if they choose to listen to a specific track I would like the track to play without the bridging crossfade at the beginning. Is this possible?

Thank you

Hi!

I wonder if this is possible but there is one function
“Audio in pauses mode” perhaps could work
meaning play audio in paus but I really think it depends
how long is the crossfade between songs?
Have you heard or can give exampel on CD made like this?
anybody else…

regards S-EH

I did a livestream once that might help you:

Basically, lay out the audio exactly how you want it to sound, without any regard to track markers. Once it all sounds good, add the track markers (the CD Wizard can help) and I suggest using CD Track Splice Markers.

The other helpful tip to prevent any glitches at the track transition points on the actual rendered master files is to render the full montage as one long file first to bake in your plug-in processing. This is something I do for all projects regardless of overlapping audio or gapless transitions.

WaveLab makes this all very fast and easy to do, as you’ll see in the livestream video.

You can’t have it both ways though. If two songs crossfade, when people skip to that song, they will always hear some remnants of the previous song, depending where you place the CD track splice marker of course.

There is no way around that except to make special “Single Edits” for any songs that might be released on their own for single or video use…so they can have clean starts and endings.
