Creating frames for text in Dorico

Hi, the Dorico videos online are all out of date and the interface has changed from nine years ago. I was wondering if someone wouldn’t mind helping me with this, please. I don’t have the frame button on the left hand side.

What I’d like to do is have blocks of text throughout the score. I’d be grateful if someone could help me with this please.

Thanks in advance.

Could you give an example of what you want as a result by showing a screenshot ?

That way it’s easier for forumusers to think of possible solutions.

Do you mean this button?

It’s available in Engrave mode, and engrave mode only is available in Dorico Pro.
What version are you using?

Thanks. I’ve got the elements trial. I might have a look at musescore. I can’t justify all of that money just to have text in the score.

Thanks again.

There might be other ways to get the result what you want in Dorico. If you could give an example someone might have a solution for your problem.

But, at this moment we don’t know your problem, just a solution you found online in an old video. And that solution isn’t available in the version you have.

Have you looked into Text items?

Thanks. I’d like to create sentences and/or paragraphs below a staff. Is there some way to do that in the elements version? It’d be great if that were possible.

Many thanks.

This is made in Elements with text items. (Shift-X) which are flipped below the staff (F)

Oh that’s great. I didn’t realise you could put so much text by using shift X.

Thanks so much. That’ll do for what I want.

Cheers.
